I do need to write something down about the new iPad… which looks cool but not compelling to me yet…

Here’s the thing:

When I heard about the iPhone I wanted it like Nemo wants his dad because I hated the experience I had with other phones. The iPad hasn’t really whispered sweet nothings in my ear simply because I don’t hate using other computers. I like using my Mac Pro at home and iMac at work.

Issues:

I am slightly nervous about owning a ‘computer’ like device that has so many limitations on it. With a real Laptop you can install anything you like, mess around under the hood and generally go nuts. I put up with the limitations with the iPhone (only installing apps approved by Apple etc.) because it’s a phone, not a computer.

I want to use it at work and print diflucan prescription drug things access the hard drives and although I am pretty sure those things will appear in the future they remain to be announced.

So I am gonna wait to have a go with it down at the Apple store.

I discovered a few months ago exactly why Yancy has a website called Yancynotnancy, on a number of occasions as she was introduced to well meaning people down here in Australia, this would happen (or something close to this):

Introducer: Hey , this is Yancy.

Yancy: Hi there!

Person: Hi… Nancy?

Yancy: No… Yancy…

Person: Nancy?

Yancy: No… Yancy… with a Y.

Person: Y’Nancy?

Yancy: (a sigh as she quietly dies a little more inside) Yeah… you got it.

Anyway, she has a new album out, and what timing she has for it’s a CHRISTMAS album!

Have a Fancy Yancy Christmas is available on good old fashioned diamox prescription CD at Amazon, her website, and Itunes.

I have a bunch of Christmas albums that are on heavy rotation during the Christmas season… some Harry Connick Jr., Destiny’s Child, Israel Houghton and Vince Guaraldi…

Yancy joins that esteemed alumni on my iTunes playlist and fits in just fine! The production on this album is absolutely top notch, great programming and brilliant guitar work. We will be using this in our mix for our December services in Hillsong Kids for sure! And as I have mentioned before on this blog it’s great to see music (especially kids music) coming from Artists not just compilations from big music labels.

Dave out.

I had read about the HBO Movie ‘Taking Chance‘ on a blog written by a Marine serving in Iraq (One Marines View), and just watched it tonight.

I love a movie that reignites my love of Cinema! This is not a Summer action movie blockbuster… it is a very thoughful and moving tribute to a man who served his country.

Visit the site for more info on the actual movie, but the one word you can use to describe this film is ‘Honour’.

As the story unfolds of this young marines body being returned to his family what follows him is respect and honour. Every step along the way people are moved to respond in ways that place value on the life that has been given to protect them. And it surprised me by being a very powerful and moving film.

So get it and watch it

But what it did awaken me to was the fact that this world really would be a better place if we hounoured people. All people. Not just the ones percieved as heroes.

I am going to make sure my son gets to experience different cultures. From the honouring, to places where there is a complete lack of respect. So he can see for himself the outcomes and consequences. And also build into him a respect for the house of God where youth is celebrated, and wisdom and age is loved and appreciated.

Our churches really should be the most diverse places on earth. Contrary to the world where religion and ethnicity divides we build communities that by their very existence proves coreg cr price the nature and chrarcter of our God!

I love books about being dangerous, wild and crazy. I loved ‘Wild at Heart’ by John Eldredge, it awakened in me a sense of adventure and life!

The same effect is being felt as I read ‘Wild Goose Chase’ by Mark Batterson.

I recieved a copy today and started reading it tonight. Mark is a clever man and has given away a bunch of copies to bloggers to review to generate some buzz. So here goes some buzz for ya!

I love it already!

Any book that takes the subject of pursuing God and cialis viagra online turns it into an adventure is my kind of book.

“I would like to think that…at the end of our church services, I am sending dangerous people back into their natural habitat to wreak havoc on the enemy.”

Bring it on!

I have said it before that our kids need to know deep down in their bones that to follow Christ is an unpredictable adventure!

I am posting this from my phone and as I mentioned, have not finished the book so a more thorough review is forth coming. Stay tuned.
