F… fun, fanatic, friends, forgetful, friar Frank…

F is for Fun – Hey you, yeah the fun police! Listen up… only 4% of the kids in the state of NSW in Australia have any extended contact with Church. Most of the families I want to reach and help in this community have no reference point to our ‘Christian’ sub culture. They don’t know the rules of religion, they don’t get the subtleties of pre-millennial vs. post-millennial rapture discussions, nor do they care. If you ever dare to try to talk/debate with me about how the ‘Church’ needs to stop being ‘edutainment’ and get back to getting deep into the word… listen… you wanna ‘get deep’… go and share your faith, go and serve someone who desperately needs a little help in this life… that’s deep!

Bottom line is this – Your efforts to take away laughter from the gathering of the Church community is taking away the very thing you are striving to obtain — real, passionate, engaged learning happens best… no wait… happens ONLY in an environment where there are smiles. Give me a child who has just laughed until they pee’d their pants (metaphorically) and I will show you a child who has given me permission to speak into their lives. I will show you a child who has put aside the pressures (and in some cases pain) of a 21st century, busy, urban, city life and has the space to take on board the word of God I am about to present to them.

If it ain’t fun, they ain’t learnin’

What started as mere horseplay between friends turned into a cultural tour de force with hundreds, dozens, lots of, numbers of fellow twitters joining in to clash their language knowledge in a battle of wit and writing…ness.

Over the next two days many a bad Acronym was created, some merely awful, others… puerile nonsense.

Finishing at Australian Eastern Standard Time on the 19th of September in the year of our Lord two thousand and nine it is now my distinct and quite specialous honour to present to you the best of the bunch, the cream of the proverbial crop for your voting edification.

The winner will go on to recieve the glory that comes from such a win and a small basket of fruit which they will procure from their nearest Grocery establishment at their own expense.

It’s 10:51 PM Sunday night.

I feel like writing something down.

I feel a little quirky. It might just be the album I just bought (on the itunes store on my iPhone – didn’t even leave my bed) (the fact I just told you that makes me a little sad).

Medeski, Martin and Wood are one of my favourite bands. Hard to categorise… they are kinda Jazz, Groove, Funk etc.

They released a kids album at the beginning of the year… ‘Let’s go Everywhere‘.

I just found out about it!

It’s GREAT. Just a bunch of REALLY Flippin’ awesome musicians playing music their kids will love.

Very timely, as we write cialis softabs generic songs for this years kids album – don’t be surprised if this next album features some funk grooves.

So Kidsfest 07 is in the can!
