So I have a series of jokes on this blog (click the jokes link at the top left of this site). I got to thinking that I should have a book review series as well (prompted by kidology.org 1cheap generic cialis target=”_blank” href=”http://www.kidology.org/network/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=2337″>forum)

I have read a number of books on speed reading… in fact I just got out of the hospital. I was in a speed reading accident. I hit a book mark and flew across the room – HA!

But seriously, I have so many books in my house that I haven’t read, I decided to just get on with and read ‘em all. So as a little way of keeping track of my reading I will post some mini reviews every time I finish a book. They probably won’t really be reviews, but highlights and insights from each book, and most likely short.

Just finished our annual womens conference at church. It was the best yet.

Well, I haven’t heard much about the mark of the beast for a number of years. After a number of commentators completely mucked up the millenium bug in 2000 (There was no worldwide meltdown in finance), it seemed like they have been lying low.

Now I grew up hearing messages about the end times. The eighties were a particulary fertile time for all things conspiracy… remember rock music is from the Devil! (Hells Bells etc.)

Well, I just remembered something that I need to let everyone about. I was waiting for the US, South America release of Super Strong God on the 28th of Feb… but with the new baby and all that I completely forgot!

In the DVD there are short ‘segments’ between all the songs featuring a bible verse and intro to the song. In the background of each of these segments there is a big ol’ screen with the verse on it. As a little bonus I got the authoring team to put the images of those screens on the DVD.
If you put the DVD of “Super Strong God” in your computer DVD player and explore the contents of the disk you should be able to see the images right there on the disk.

NOTE: You will need a computer with a DVD-ROM drive to view these files.

Mac users: You should be able to see these images by clicking on them right away.

PC users: You may need image editing software to use these files (Photoshop etc), very sorry.

You can use these images in your ministry to teach kids the bible verses… or as your computer wallpaper to learn the verses yourself… or whatever your mind can dream up for them.

P.S. Please let me know if this doesn’t work for you, as I personally have a DVD authored here in Australia and not in the US, England etc.

Well… my blogging buddy and fellow Hillsong Children’s Pastor Nathan McLean got married yesterday in ‘The Blue Mountains‘.

Now Nathan is not the most ‘prolific’ blogger… in fact I have known pieces of belly button lint post more that him… but he is a top bloke, and had a very beautiful wedding! It was an honour being one of the grooms men!

So Nathan… have a great honeymoon and we will see you soon!

Maybe now he is married he will have more to say on this blog

Very excited today!

Unexpectedly “Jesus is my Superhero” has been nominated for Children’s Music Album of the Year at the GMA Awards in April this year! The nominations came out this morning and our first ever kids album is in the running for the equivalent of the Grammys in the Christian world.
This is a big deal – it is the only Hillsong Music album nominated this year!

There are six albums in the running, and Superhero is the only one produced by a local church, not a record label.

Anyway, definately a surprise, and I may just have to be in Nashville in April for the ceremony

Eddie Yang, pastor of Hillsong Parramatta Chinese Outreach Service, was swept into the sea by a big wave while fishing on January 2nd 2005.

Wow. Life is short.

You never know what tomorrow will bring.

Happy Birthday Blog!

Wow, it just passed me by. The blog turned ONE on the 13th of November. I made the first post exactly a year ago. In fact I made only two posts for the whole of the month… things have picked up a bit.

Not bad…

Ah well, so much for the party, I think I will save myself the washing up and head to bed.

NEWSFLASH: Nathan Mclean joins the Blog!!

Nathan is the Primary Age Childrens Pastor at our Hills Campus and is an awesome young leader. He is engaged to Jess and both (obviously) will be getting married in February 06!

You can see picture of Jess here. She is the youth Administrator, and much better looking than Nathan.

So make him feel welcome, he will make his first post very soon…

I don’t have a picture of Nathan yet… but that’s probably for the best.
