WHO IS THIS YOU SPEAK OF?

David and his wife Beci Wakerley are Children’s Pastors in Sydney, Australia. David writes most of the words contained here at this blog including this little Bio which he is writing in the third person, otherwise it would get rather confusing.

If you are reading this anywhere close to the first half of 2010 then it is safe to say they have one beautiful boy Brooklyn Justice and a second son Orlando, who has recently left the womb.

After growing up in New Zealand, they got married and headed to Bible College in Australia and never went back, which isn’t to say they didn’t want to, after all New Zealand has snow, no predatory animals and superior Fish and Chips, but they both felt God calling them to the sunburnt land and stayed. They both have a passion to see Children’s Ministries around the world flourish and thrive…

I would hope (slipping slightly out of third person) that reading this blog you will find inspiration and resource to inspire and encourage! Also a growing community of leaders committed to seeing God’s children all over the globe reached with the gospel of Christ.

David started the blog in 2004, which predates both twitter and facebook making him super-nerdy but ultimately endearing.

WHY DOES HE BLOG?

  1. An exercise in transparency. I learn best by sharing ideas and teaching others, so this blog helps me do that continually and keep accountable to ‘the internets‘. If I’m not blogging, I’m not learning (unless I am completely locked down in a project or something similar).
  2. Sowing and reaping. Networking, connecting with like-minded people is not just about the phone any more. If you need a mentor, get a mentoree. Help someone, send them a gift… My goal is to help and encourage as much as possible, not sit back and wait for things to happen.
  3. It keeps my family (spread around the world) updated on my life.

So comment and I will see you around the inter-tubes.
