Holiday of Awesomeness

As of September 18, 2009 I have been married to my beautiful Beci for 10 years!
So this year we are celebrating! In July we are heading to the US of A for three weeks of non-stop serious full-on Holidaying.
So starting in LA and then on to Florida for some Disney action (For my son not for me really, I probably won’t even go on any rides, well maybe a couple for research purposes). After that we will be making our way to Memphis/Nashville and driving up to New York via Washington D.C.
I am pretty excited about this trip, it has been a long time since we have taken such a long holiday and it will be very well appreciated.
Too all readers in the USAmerica region of the globe, if have any must see locations to visit, hot travel tips or even just some ‘I’m really jealous’ remarks then please let me know below in the comments.

Sounds like an incredible vacation. My wife and I are celebrating 10 years this summer… but were only going to Mexico for 5 days. You’re hitting some great spots… just a little disappointed you aren’t hitting Texas, but I won’t take it personally.
Awesome…have to get down to San Diego, the most beautiful city in the US! Hey, I’m hoping to head your way in the next year or two. Grew up partially in Tasmania & want to take the fam to see the country. We’ll see! Have fun over here!!
Good for you Dave! If you can pull it off, come up to Portland, Oregon. I can point you to the Columbia Gorge waterfalls. Amazing vistas and hiking. Then I would point you to the Oregon coast. Unparalleled on the West coast of the USA.
Have fun!
I know it’s a holiday but you have to check out what the guys are doing at Newport, it’s really amazing & I know Nikki J would love to see Y’all
Disneyland is definitely for grown-up kids as well. If you like food you will have an even better time. Tennessee= Grand Ole Opry. Good times for the whole family. If you’re there on the 4th be sure to get involved in some BBQ action. Just Rock up to someones picnic as if you were invited.
Ok Dave if you go to Memphis, you need to go to one of two restaurants.
Corky’s BBQ if you want world famous Memphis BBQ. If you don’t want the BBQ but want a super sweet place to take your wife then Texas De Brazil is a very nice place with incredible atmosphere. It’s a Brazilian steakhouse but it’s pricey so just depends on what you like.
Great things to do in Memphis include, touring the Gibson Guitar Factory, the Civil Rights Museum, and the famous sun studio where Elvis, Johnny Cash, and Jerry Lewis all had sessions.
Anyway that is my home and I would like to give you any kind of info you need on the place just shoot me an email and I’ll give you what ya need!
Have fun on the trip!
I can recommend a passport for Brooklyn.
You have to visit the best city in the world! Sweet home Chicago!! You have not experienced life until you have been in Chicago. You will need to take your family to a White Sox game while you are here.
Not sure when you’re passing through Tennessee but hollar…we’d love to hang, take you dinner, etc. if the schedules allow. In Nashville you have the Ryman Auditorium, Grand Ole Opry, Country Music Hall of Fame, shopping at Greens Hills Mall and the HIlls Center. Pancake Pantry is a must for breakfast. Satco is a great quick mexican lunch/dinner place…in Memphis you have to see Graceland! It’s amazing how gaudy it is
Charleson, SC is lovely and quaint. Boston is great for more historical cities too.

You will come right by Greenville, SC on your way to Memphis it would be awesome to connect up. But hanging with me is no vacation.
I agree with JC. Grab some BBQ while you are in Memphis.
Dave, are you driving to Florida or hopping a flight over?
Sounds like you’re going to have a lot of fun. The good ‘ole US of A has it all–desert, rainforest, gorgeous coasts and everything in between. I’m happy for ya’ll–happy anniversary!
