Be Irrational

Love this thought to think on and ponder while you ruminate…

From Seth Godin

Irrationally committed

If you’re looking for the sensible, predictable, long-term strategy, this probably isn’t it. Except when it is.

Entrepreneurs who are irrationally committed to their business are far more likely to get through the Dip…

Salespeople and service providers and marketers who are irrationally committed to customer service can completely transform an ordinary experience and make it remarkable.

Is cipro prescription drug being irrational irrational? Of course it is. That’s why it often works.

The most fun people I know are irrational, the most successful people I know do unrational things…

Jesus was an unrational dude.

Maybe we should lead unrationally?

Music Video Shoot

7am this morning, awoke and made my way to someone else’s house to start filming a music video for ‘Love Never Fails’, which just may turn out to be one of the most embarrassing things I have ever done.

Love Never Fails is a song written by myself and Gio Galanti, one of our kids album producers from Hillsong London. With help from Funny Man Dan in lyrics we have created this kind of Hip Hop track that talks about the fact that love never fails.

It’s not exactly praise and worship, so we are making a music video for it and including as maybe a little bonus on the album this year. But it was a whole lot of fun check out a couple of shots from the shoot with the ever imporessive Ben Field directing!

Joke #16

Once every now and then I find a joke worthy of immortalisation… here is the most recent.

I cipro mg had a Japanese intern once; I asked him to get some supplies and he never came back. In the end I went to look for him and he jumped out waving his arms and shouted “SUPPLIES!”

Ha!

Networking News

So a dude by the name of Michael Chanley started a site called cmconnect.org

You can see his page on the site here http://www.cmconnect.org/profile/MichaelChanley

This site is part of the Ning.com network which simply according to them is an “online service to create, customize, and share a social network.”

Which is a fantastic way to start a site. They provide the technical expertise and support and you focus on the connections and building the network.

So far they have over 2,000 members which is great for such a niche site online!

This is turning into one of the great sites online to connect with others of same heart and focus. Kidology.org is the biggest one of these with 20,631 members in the forum (although, I am not sure how many of those post regularly… I know I am a slacker recently).

So here’s what you do, hop on over to cmconnect.org and create yourself a profile. invite me to be your friend! http://www.cmconnect.org/profile/DavidWakerley

Well cipro generics done Michael!!

Guitar Mania

More studio goodness.

The album maybe called ‘Follow You’. Which may just be the most rockin’ track we have ever produced.

Nigel Hendroff came and played with us for this one, and I can say that I have never seen him so excited about recording a song ever! I am sitting here with Gio editing this puppy into pop/rock goodness, but here is a shot earlier of Nigel playing and Gio recording.

Stay tuned for this song, it might just melt your brain!

Gettin’ Serious

So first night at the Grove Studio for 2008 kids album. Lots of work to do. But I am up for the challenge. There are a couple songs I believe will be VERY powerful for kids to sing. So next two weeks are spent getting ready for recording cipro generic name on 8th October. Pictured Andrew Crawford recording guru.

Three Posts of Awesomeness

Here are a few great posts I read recently:

Notes from Reggie Joiner

  • A lot of kids leave church experience rich but relationally poor
  • What is the purpose of kids applying what they learn? So they can see God and others can see God in them.
  • No one is more strategically positioned to experience all levels of spiritual growth in a child than a small group leader.
  • The reason volunteer leaders are not committed to children is because we’re not asking them to be committed to cipro cheap children. We give them outs every way possible.
  • How do we partner with parents? By casting vision to parents and getting parents so bought in that they cast the vision at home.

Speaking the truth in Love

4 Assumptions during the busy season

Here’s 4 assumptions I asked our teams to make during the next 4 months of ministry…

Enjoy.

Wisdom

The older you get the more you realize you don’t know.

Just when I think I have an insight or handle on things I see or hear a quote that blows me away.

I am a student of culture. cipla generic viagra I study it, disect it, look for the good in it and generally spend my life searching for the glimpses of God that can be found in it. Especially the culture as it relates to kids.

So what you need to do is visit the Catalyst conference website and watch their promo video.

“There’s far too much preaching today coming from culture instead of speaking Gods word to the culture.”
- Craig Groeschel

Anyway it may not be life changing to you, but it reminds me to make sure our kids bring God to their worlds and not let the world overwhelm their God.

Dave out.

Writing songs

Now in my previous post Theophilus…

I did use the metaphor about giving birth, which I understand is a foolish thing for a male to do under any circumstance. But just read this quote from Ryan Adam’s;

What I do and what all musicians do is easy. All we have to do is sit down for a couple hours a week and write a song or two. That simple task is all the world asks of me, so I do it. The other musicians who don’t are just lazy, because again, we aren’t being asked to tar rooftops or clean out dumpsters. We just have cipla generic cialis to write a couple songs!

So true!

Giving birth

So it’s midnight and I just finished a song (hopefully) for our upcoming kids album.

My wife Beci is in bed and here I am all inspired about kids worshipping God and keeping her awake.

I think it will be a powerful song. Talking about Jesus being near, and wanting to spend the rest of our lives in His house. “I’m so glad you’re here, I’m so glad you’re near…” well I don’t want to ruin it :)

But man is it a process. Getting a song written is like giving birth to a baby that sometimes refuses to come out. Or at least that cialis without prescription is our experience.

This year has proven to be just as tough as always to find the God songs. But I guess not much worthwhile is easy. The pain of creating can lead to great beauty.

I hope and pray that is true for this years album, that the kids at our church and ultimately around the world would encounter Jesus. Because if they do, they will never forget it. And they will never forget him.
