Do You know who directed Narnia?

Probably not.

Cool article about Narnia – from the LA Times =====>

Close your eyes and try to imagine who I’m talking about: He’s a likable New Zealander who directs epic fantasies that have stretched the boundaries of computer-generated effects and made more money than many small countries — nearly $1 billion worldwide.

And, oh yes, his name isn’t Peter Jackson.

International Help Needed

Now I live in Sydney Australia… which means that I see the Australian version of the iTunes music store online.

Most of the Hillsong catalog has been added to the store, and just recently our Hillsong Kids Live Worship albums…

BUT, I need to know if other stores around the world have the albums available.

So, if you have access to the iTunes store in the USA, or England, Canada, Japan etc. etc. then I would like to ask you a favour…

Do a search in iTunes for “Jesus is my Superhero” or “Hillsong Kids” or even “Super Strong God” (which has only been released in Australia/NZ so far).

Then comment below if it is available, or not as the case may be…
Thanks!

It’s Coming Down

It’s coming down in a few days.

http://kidinspiration.com/different

This is your last chance to get your hands on “Think Different”. A special report I have made available for Jan 2006 only!

It is also your last chance to enter the competition for a “Super Strong God” DVD.

http://kidinspiration.com/different

Just let me say, you could still win this DVD quite easily, just simply let your ministry friends know about this report.

Why am I taking it down at the end of Jan?
Well, we all need some urgency now and then to get us going. And February is too
late to be planning your year, so hence the time restriction!

So, don’t miss out!

Escape Adulthood

When I was a lot younger than I am now I read a story about a wise old chinese man and some kids. I cannot for the life of me remember anything else about the story except for the description of the wise old man.

“He remembered what it was like to be young” – not just in an intellectual kind of way, but really understood why kids act the way they do. Now obviously God stuck that in my mind for a reason, otherwise I maybe slightly loopy right now.

So my site of the week is:
http://kimandjason.com/escapeplan

We want to rid the world of Adultitis. We can’t afford to set up a research team to develop a vaccine. We don’t have the stamina to attempt a triathalon to raise funds. And when it comes to those little ribbons, all of the colors have already been taken. But we do have a plan.

It is based on this manifesto from changethis.com

Manifesto

Make sure you have a look around change this while you are there. You may just find some ideas that change the course of history!

All Stars Camp!

All Stars Logo

Well, tomorrow is our All Stars Kids Summer Camp!

It is our biggest ever camp so far!!! Lots of kids and leaders.
We go to the Northern Beaches of Sydney, and hang out for three days, two nights.
Will post photos on return!

Holiday Pics

Here we go… new camera, same bad photography… but that’s all right, Jesus still loves me.

The Beach
Forresters Beach, in the beautiful central coast NSW.

Dave Relaxing on the Beach
Reading a book. Not sure what it was, for the sake of appearing spritual – it was the Bible.

The Resort Pool
The pool at the Forresters Resort, would have taken a photo from the pool, but camera instruction manual suggested not.

Beci at Moo-ers
Beci at Moo-ers. It’s a steak reastaurant — hence the cows…

More Moo-ers Memorabilia
On everything!

Leading an effective children’s ministry team

If you don’t subscribe to Rick Warren’s Ministry Toolbox… then steer your browser in this direction Pastors.com

You get it every week in your inbox and it is an excellent read!

There is an article in this weeks edition from Craig Jutila.

Leading a dynamic team takes energy, enthusiasm, and the ability to empower others. It has been said that a leader is someone with a magnet in his heart and a compass in his head. As you lead an effective and dynamic team, there are seven observations worth remembering. They will keep you on the right path and give you success with those you serve. read on

I’m on holiday!

My wife and I are taking a short breack this week… (back to work on Friday). Not much blogging will be happening from these fingers… but I did just get a digital camera for my birthday (4th Jan… send money). So maybe I will put up some photos from beautiful Australia…

UPDATE: I am getting some great feedback from my FREE ‘Think Different” Report.

Check it out if you haven’t yet!!!

Sad Loss

Eddie Yang, pastor of Hillsong Parramatta Chinese Outreach Service, was swept into the sea by a big wave while fishing on January 2nd 2005.

Wow. Life is short.

You never know what tomorrow will bring.

Our prayers go out to Eddie’s family.

“Think Different”

Well, it has been quite a number of days since my last post.

But I hope to make it up to you:

“Think Different – Your Ministry in 2006″, A Children’s Ministry Manifesto is now ready for release.

I was a little hesitant to release it in its current form, I thought it might come across a too ‘forceful’. But my wife Beci had a read through (fixed the grammer and spelling) and has given the okay.

Disclaimer: Don’t read it if you are easily offended… thanks. I mean it’s not like I filled the pages with profanity, but I just believe that kids lives are too precious to waste words.

I am making this report free to download, so if you have a blog, or a website please feel free to spread the word.

Here is the link to find out more: http://kidinspiration.com/different/

God Bless and Enjoy.

P.S. Oh and I am only keeping it online until the end of JAN 2006. So be quick!

P.P.S. Post comments below about the ebook, reviews, love offerings, appreciation etc. :)
