Yep. We are having church at 11:00 a.m. with only one service. We aren’t a “megachurch” we are about 350.

Yes, we are having Christmas morning service. We are having it an hour earlier. 9:00 – 10:30. When trying to decide what to do I asked the kids in the church if they would attend on Christmas. All said yes ~ (the ‘mega’ church I attend has 50 members) This special day the children will be ministering along with the pastor. I guess that though we are a very small group I should be very THANKFUL that the folks are committed to worship the Lord. I guess sometimes big isn’t better. I guess I can be thankful that the kids would rather spend a bit of time in church than with new toys. When one little girl (6) was asked by her parents if she wouldn’t rather stay home . she said no it’s Jesus’ Birthday. The great thing about this answer is … the parents have never attended church and said they will not even on Christmas. She gets a ride from an aunt who travels 30 miles to be here. So… I am disappointed that a ministry ‘cops out’ because only 1000 may attend. What does this teach our children about prioritys. People need the oppurtunity to choose ~

We also are having church on Christmas Morning, but we will have one service instead of two. I think that closing church on Sunday because it is Christmas would send a mixed message to our kids. I have spent the past month instructing my kids that Christmas is All About Jesus. What would it say if we then closed church because Christmas is first and foremost a family day. I’m looking forward to celebrating Jesus’ Birthday with our kids!

we are not having Christmas on Christmas day so I gues we are the ones sparking all the controversy. Just kidding. We are only 16 months old and totally portable so we felt it would be better to have 2 Christmas Eve service then give our people Christmas day off. Other reason for this were, we meet in a theatre and we felt it was wrong to ask them to send a manager up on Christmas Day to open up for us. And our setup team shows up at 5 am. So thats whats going on with us. Great question and I love controversy.
